How Often should I Visit My Dentist?

    By Manish | General Dentistry | 0 comment | 16 October, 2020 | 1

Dental visits are the most ignored meets of the year. We always feel our teeth and gums are alright as we are able to eat and chew everything properly but in reality, this is not the case. Dental problems are not visible in the initial years when the problem starts and one day appear suddenly with severe pain. For this reason, it is always advisable to do a quick visit to the dentist’s house twice a year to double-check the emerging problem and can avoid it at the beginning itself.

What should be your frequency of visits?

Half-yearly and quarterly are ideal numbers in the initial stage as most problems are detected during this gap and are treated well in advance. However, it is also dependent on one’s daily hygiene routine and habits adopted since childhood. We clean our house every day even though we use only some parts of the house on daily basis, so imagine not cleaning the house for three or six long months. Would you be able to survive? We are sure you will end up in the hospital due to the spread of harmful bacterias around. In the same way, we use our mouth all days and all hours of the month and not clean it for 15-16 years. How do you expect them to perform? They would collapse soon before informing you. To avoid this situation. It is advisable to at least give it a little attention and go for checkups every 3 or 6 months.

Who should visit dentist more frequently?

In this same scenario, for the following people, it becomes even more important to make frequent visits which can come up to even monthly basis:

    • Cavities
    • Children
    • Weak gums
    • Tobacco eaters
    • Frequent smokers
    • Weak immune system

A little awareness can change the whole scenario for a lifetime. Invest in your oral health and stay healthy orally, physically, and mentally.
